I'm not surprised by how many people seem to oppose Obama, but what does surprise me is the wide array of rather contradictory arguments. Some anti-Obamaites insist that a vote for Obama is a vote for terrorism. As one my manager expressed, "He's a Muslim who's going to have his terrorist friends attack us!" I know that this a fear of many Americans. Although I find it absurd people still use statements like "They support Muslims" or "he's Muslim" as a criticism for why democrats shouldn't be in office. Do we forget history that quickly? Christians were the original terrorists..."killing in the name of god" (sound familiar anyone?) Lest we not forget that the Ku KluX Klan is a Protestant group.
Speaking of the KKK, did anyone see Obama's speech today? During his discussion on what needs to be done to our economy, he was interrupted by a group of protesters. The protesters called themselves "Blacks against Obama." They denounced his pro gay marriage and pro-choice as a reason to be against him. But others signs carried a more interesting message "Jesse Jackson hates Obama" and "The KKK endorses Obama." The KKK endorsing Obama is one which has been floating around on the Internet for months, a rumor which both the candidate and the KKK have denounced. On the other hand, others see Obama is a Pro-Black, Anti-white presidential candidate connected with the pastor who made racist comments about white people. So is He Christian or Muslim? Black Panther or KKK? Can his opponents please get together and make up their minds?
